Tottenham Hotspur fans who jeered keeper Vicario were told afterwards "they cannot be true Spurs fans" by boss Frank.

Spurs let in two scores in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, registering their 10th Premier League at home loss of 2025.

But the main talking point was Fulham's second goal when Vicario lost possession well beyond his box.

He ventured out to handle a long ball and carried the ball near the touchline.

However, rather than kicking it out of play, the Italian spun and attempted to clear, but slipped as the ball glanced off Wilson and was collected by Josh King.

The forward passed the ball off to Welsh midfield player Harry Wilson, who bent a shot into the net from the touchline recorded at 36.6 yards.

Seconds afterwards when the ball came to the keeper again, a number of Tottenham supporters jeered him.

Spurs were jeered off at half-time, with the side 2-0 behind, and once more at the final whistle.

One of those jeering sessions truly irritated the manager.

"I heard some of our supporters apparently jeered the situation and booed after, which, in my opinion is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated about the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.

"Those individuals cannot be real Spurs supporters that act that way. Fair enough booing following the game, fine, but when we are playing, we are supporting each other, we are behind one another moving ahead."

Kenny Tete had given Fulham a early advantage prior to Wilson's strike – with Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an better second period performance.

Ex- Premier League keeper Hart remarked that the next score was "completely preventable".

"I certainly understand the supporters' frustration," Hart added. "I am aware the role the keeper is performing. He's a great squad member, he's a real figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your actions.

"The keeper was heavily implicated in what ended up to be the decisive goal."

'It's In the Game, I'm a Big Man'

Italy international Vicario is in his third campaign with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old stated following the game that he had to take the feedback.

"That goal was a mistake of mine, I accept responsibility for it," he commented.

"The intent was to clear the ball long and I just struck the ball in a bad manner. That made an more difficult challenge to climb."

He said receiving jeers "comes with football".

"I'm a big man, what can I say?" he added. "We cannot be affected by the situation in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do as they see fit.

"It is on us to remain more composed, to focus on ourselves. The team is lacking in calmness and poise to overturn results. Today is a poor defeat and it is hard to accept."

'I Was Surprised No One Went Back to the Line'

Despite Vicario's error, it was far from an simple goal for Wilson to convert.

Actually it was the second most distant Premier League goal of the campaign – following Tyler Adams' 43.3 yard strike for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which interestingly too came on the same day.

The goalscorer said he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an open net to aim for.

10 seconds elapsed between the keeper coming out of his area and the midfielder striking – which was 5 seconds following the kick.

"I felt like the keeper was out of the area for ages," he remarked.

"I was surprised none of the back four returned to the line. When not one of them defended the net, my eyes sparked a bit.

"Udogie fell as well, which gave me a little extra opportunity. After that it was solely about attempting to make the right connection and get it towards goal. I felt a positive sense, the moment it left my boot, that it was heading in."

'During in a Poor Run, All Appears to Work Against You'

Although Vicario's mistake dominated coverage, this was an overall poor day for Tottenham to extend their home struggles.

This was their tenth at home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, a shared team statistic along with nineteen ninety-four and 2003.

They still have home games against the manager's former club the Bees and title holders Liverpool to come prior to the end of the season.

Just a single of those victories have occurred since the manager took over from Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.

"If you are down 2-0 following six minutes, there is a mountain to climb," stated the boss.

"During in a poor run, all aspects appears to work against you as well – the opening was a deflected attempt, the next is a mistake from Vic.

"This result puts us in a place where we have lost an additional match. Each fixture has a unique narrative, today we lost in the early stages.

"We simply need to keep working. The second half was much better and with luck an aspect we can utilize to develop."

Tottenham have lost four straight at home capital clashes for the initial time in the Premier League.

And they are recording nine point five attempts and three point two shots on target per match in the Premier League – their poorest averages on record in a one season (since at least the 2003-04 season).

Former Fulham midfielder Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.

"He must take the criticism," Murphy remarked. "He's taken a high profile job at a huge team with enormous expectation. There is scrutiny and duty that accompanies that.
