The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
