Expedition 33 Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, its gifted actors also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards during the show.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
